WJO National Championships 2010

A Family Day Out!

All WJO Clubs be entering the WJO National Championships held at Daventry Leisure Centre on 8th May 2010.

The Championship is an exciting annual event which gives all WJO students the opportunity to enter and compete against other WJO clubs in a friendly controlled environment.

All students attend and compete for fun, with the possibility of winning medals and trophies and becoming a National champion!
All family members are welcome and encouraged to come along and support.

There are two sections the students can enter which are optional, these are:
1) Precision - Patterns / Forms
2) Sport - Sparring

Jado Precision - Patterns / Forms
In this section, students will perform a Pattern which is a predetermined sequence of movements learnt during their normal class sessions. There will be the opportunity to perform this individually and as part of their club’s team.
Patterns are judged on precision, timing and accuracy by the judging panel.

Jado Sport - Sparring
In this section, students test their sparring skills against other clubs. This is carried out in a controlled manner as they try to collate as many points as possible in an allocated amount of time by striking certain areas on each other’s protective wear.

Safety
All participants who whish to take part in the sport sparring section must wear WJO approved protective wear which consists of: head, hand, body (we will provide), shin and foot protection for safety reasons. All protective wear is avaliable from your instructor.
All strikes are aimed at specific targets on the protective clothing and must be performed with control.

This event will be a fun and exciting day for participants and
spectators, we hope you can join us.
